天后宫  The  Tianhou Temple 　천후궁

 

     泉州天后宫始建于宋庆元二年（1196年），是现存妈祖庙中建筑规格最高、规模最大、年代最早的一座，也是大陆妈祖庙中唯一被国务院审定公布的国家重点文物保护单位。除较完整地保存有雄伟的大殿、后殿等古代建筑外，在政府及海内外信众的热心资助下，还陆续修复了山门、戏台、钟鼓楼、东西厢廊等建筑，并将继续复建梳妆楼。建置于宫内的闽台关系史博物馆收藏有大量的珍贵历史文物和民俗文物，是研究海外交通史的重要史迹。         

     Quanzhou Tianhou Temple began to be built in the 2nd year of Qingyuan in the Song dynasty(1196 A.D.).Of the Matzu temples survival today it is the most splendid in architecture, the largest in the scales, the earliest in ages and the unique one that has been in the list of the key national safekeeping cultural relics. With the aid financially by the government and the followers from home and abroad ,the temple gate, the stage, the bell and drum towers, the west and the east corridors have been reconstructed, and the dressing chamber is going to be renovated. The Historical Museum of the Relations Between Fujian and Taiwan set up inside the temple has collected and stored great quantity of precious historical relics and folk custom relics. It is an important historical site for the study of overseas communications.
